Logline:

My Comments:
Ah, the episode that introduces a fan favorite, Kevin Smith as Ares, the God of War. This episode also starts up the "shipper" fandom as Ares tries to bring Xena back to the "dark side" of herself. This episode has a bit of a YAXI (Yet Another Xena Inconsistancy) in that Xena says she always wondered what he (Ares) looked like.

In the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys episode, Armageddon Now II we learn that Xena new Ares back during her heyday when she was torching villages.

This marks the first of two appearances Kevin makes in season 1. He'll make many more appearances throughout the course of the six seasons.

Kevin Smith passed away on February 16, 2002 after suffering from a fall while on a movie set in China. He will be missed for all time to come.
