But Caesar is waiting for her, along with her old enemy Callisto (Hudson Leick), who's been sent from Hell to help Caesar rise to power and destroy Xena. Gabrielle and Amarice also travel to Rome, but are taken in chains by Brutus (David Franklin). As Caesar prepares to declare himself emperor, Xena is captured---and a wavering Brutus watches as laborers prepare for a crucifixion, with a warning from Xena fresh in his mind: “Beware the ides of March!”

My Comments:
Why only three chakrams?? This was a four or five chakram you are asking yourself. Well, I'll be honest--if we hadn't been so bombarded with the vision--then it would have gotten a 4 or a 5. However, since it was COMPLETELY obvious...well...you get the idea.

The Gabinatar. The Gabzerker... there's countless names people have come up with for Gabrielle during the scene in the prison yard. She racked up a high body count.

The prison scene is particualarily moving and we learn a vital piece of information--Xena's never read Gabrielle's scrolls!

The filmography on this episode really rocked. The editing was great as well. The swipes to Caesar's assination and Gab and Xena's crucifxion was perfect and gave it a very haunted feeling.

Joseph Lo Duca's score is absolutely magnificant and perfectly cued.
